Packet #18 - Crusti Croc Cheese & Onion

Ahhh, the life of a crisp blogger. Who wouldn't love filling your day up eating delicious crisps. It's great, because when you're in the position to choose your crisp, you always try and experiment, all for the love of this very blog. Sometimes the results can be tremendously gratifying.

Crusti Croc Cheese & Onion which are available in Lidl, were an interesting crisp. Upon opening the crisps there was a very strong smell coming from the bag. So much so, that people near by commented on the odour!

Regardless, i munched away. The weight of the crisp was decent, so I was quite optimistic. First few crisps not too bad. But then, half way through the bag the everything just got way out of hand. The flavour was just so intense it was almost unbearable. Way way way over seasoned and they just tasted truly appalling. In fact for the rest of the afternoon I had a slight headache, I blame Crusti.

So, to conclude, Crusti Croc Cheese and Onion Crisps are absolutely dreadful. STAY AWAY.

  1. I like their ready salted ones!I add paprika and herbs to mine and grated cheese, serve them with a toasted cheese sandwich! But I do agree, I prefer them to the cheese & onion ones..

    Best crisps are:

    1. Tayto Cheese & Onion
    2. Tayto Smokey Bacon
    3. Ripples Ready Salted
    4. Ripples Cheddar Cheese
    5. Tayto Wholegrain Nachos (To Die For!)
    6. King Crisps
    7. Crusti Croc Ready Salted
    8. Walkers

  2. ik had een familie zak gekocht voor de kids maar er zaten zeker 5 zakjes in die taai waren om dat ze niet goed afgedicht waren dan is zo,n familie zak nog te duur als je er een derde van in de vuilnisbak belanden

  3. I have enjoyed Crusti Croc ridge cut crisps ever since I found them. Unfortunately, lately, they have gone as bad as McCoys in quality.

There isn't enough flavouring (for my taste) and I have to throw away a lot from the bag since they are fill of black inedible spots. Poor quality potatoes must be being used!

What a shame as I had hoped I had found a great alternative to poor quality McCoys.

  5. Crusti Croc cheese and onion are among my favourite crisps, but then I'm a lover of intense flavours. My other big favourite is Taverners Salt and Vinegar which nearly blows my head off.

Great intense flavours - you cant go wrong.
If only crisps had all the goodness you need from food, then I would happily live off Crusti Croc crisps for the rest of my life :)

  12. Those who disrespect the Crusti Croc range of potato-based snacks are deluded. They continually go from strength to strength and the crisps in particular could rival even the best of brands.

Walk tall forever Crusti Crocs. Long may you caress my gob with your supreme crispy texture and tongue-orgasmic natural flavourings.

  13. Crusti Croc crisps are a good bargain, however I have purchased the 'Multi Pack' with the different flavours many times and I noticed that a few packets in the pack have little or no flavouring at all. This has happened many times, nearly every time I have bought the Multi-Pack. It's disappointing when you specifically choose to eat a packet of Cheese and onion crisps and end up with plain. They aren't even ready salted crisps; they are just completely plain. It is usually the cheese and onion crisps, however it is sometimes salt & vinegar or Roast Chicken. The other types of Crisps by 'Crusti Croc' are amazing and a great bargain; for example the 'Cheese & chive Potato snacks' are well seasoned and enjoyable, they never disappoint me.

  14. I had some at night one time and the flavour was really really really weak and I couldn't taste it, however, the cheap nasty stuff from these knock off Walkers made my lips dry when I woke up and (sorry to say this) I was constipated!!!

  15. PS, I've always thought their mascot should be a Crocodile with it's tongue hanging out like he's hungry because of the name "Crusti Croc" (as in crocodile) and it's food!

  16. I've just had prawn cocktail crisp from the multi pack and have now come across 3 bags which have no flavour at all just completely plain and this is what I am craving
